Plan and Commercial License FAQ

A project requires a Commercial License if you are planning to use it for any commercial purposes and/or paid use case. Ex. 1) You are an agency and you have a contract to develop a WebAR campaign for a client; 2) You are a company building a WebAR project or integrating 8th Wall technology into your platform.

A project does not require a Commercial License if it is created for your own educational purposes, a work of non-commercial artistic expression, a private demo, or a sample project to showcase work to prospective clients. If you are an educational institution please contact Licensing for information on a custom Education plan.

For 8th Wall-hosted projects, a “view” is a request from a web browser to the 8th Wall platform when a user visits your WebAR experience. For self-hosted projects, a ”view” is a request from a web browser to the 8th Wall platform when a user visits your WebAR experience and approves permissions to initiate an AR session.
