8th Wall will wind down over the next year, with hosted projects remaining active through February 2027.

After more than seven incredible years, we’ve made the difficult decision to wind down the 8th Wall service.

While this chapter is closing, we are committed to ensuring the legacy of the technology continues. We are actively exploring options to open source key components of 8th Wall technology and documentation to make them available to the community.

Our goal is to make this transition clear and predictable by preserving ongoing work, supporting exports, and opening the technology to the next generation of builders.

What’s Happening

Live projects, hosted experiences, and active campaigns will remain online and fully operational through February 28, 2027. Nothing will change overnight. Developers will have time to complete campaigns and export their work before the platform fully shuts down.

All 8th Wall products and services - including 8th Wall Studio, Cloud Editor, and Asset Lab - will be shut down in stages:

This schedule ensures all existing projects and campaigns will continue running through the full hosting window. Throughout this time period, we’ll also share updates on which components will be made open source and the timelines for their release as these details take shape.
