In collaboration with Ferrara, Sony Pictures and Geometry, Trigger created Ghostbusters: Haunted Candy Hunt WebAR, an accessible and scalable way for kids and families to safely celebrate Halloween at home during the COVID pandemic. This virtual spin on the classic neighborhood trick-or-treating experience featured an augmented reality game and sweepstakes.
A special edition of the WebAR experience launched just in time for Halloween, featuring 3D ghosts sporting masks. Fans of the Ghostbusters franchise will recognize characters and gear that appear in the Haunted Candy Hunt, such as Slimer and the Ghost Trap. We also developed a new candy ghost comprised of iconic Ferrara candies. Users text a code displayed on store stands and candy packaging to receive a link to access the WebAR experience on their smartphone device. Once launched, users search their area for ghosts to stun and capture in AR. After the timer runs out, users view their final score and are prompted to enter a sweepstakes for extra sweet prizes.
