Las Awichas - (Alpha)
In Las Awichas, Grandmothers weave magic into robotic animals, from nimble geckos to majestic jaguars, each ready to unveil their secrets to you.
In Las Awichas, Grandmothers weave magic into robotic animals, from nimble geckos to majestic jaguars, each ready to unveil their secrets to you.
Las Awichas invites you to immerse yourself in a unique phygital (blending physical with digital) experience, hosted at The Strand and at The Arcade at King's College London from March 7th to April 20th, 2024. This exhibit transforms ancient mountain lore into an interactive journey, where robotic animals come to life, offering a bridge between the tangible and mythical world.
Crafted by wicked grandmas, each robotic creature, from the agile gecko to the shadowy spider, the peaceful llama, and the self-absorbed monkey, is imbued with a distinct mystique and narrative. Joining them are the timeless whale, the fragile hummingbird, the majestic condoress, and the powerful jaguaress.
These creatures have been essential to our ecosystem from the dawn of time, revered by our ancestors and now awaiting to become a part of your legacy. They carry the spark of life, eager to unveil their secrets and stories through interaction. Whether experienced in the palm of your hand or triggered by a picture, Las Awichas delivers an experiential encounter that transcends the conventional, blending the physical and digital to captivate your senses.
