The highest-circulation issue of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) was released with AR features by Saint Elmo's Experiential.
In keeping with its thematic focus on "Future Germany", the FAZ scheduled a dedicated issue, their "biggest FAZ of the year" and used augmented reality to enrich their high quality editorial content with an additional layer of visual information: moving images, 3D animations and interactive layers. Thus transforming newspaper reading into an interactive, multimedia experience.
The AR content could be accessed easily via QR codes printed on the newspaper pages. Readers could scan the QR code directly with their devices without the need of an app and then experience the associated digital content on the display.
