For GE Healthcare, Saint Elmo's Experiential created a virtual launch event enabling an international audience to experience a new product from home.
The international launch of the Voluson SWIFT ultrasound scanner by GE Healthcare took place as a virtual event, where the new product was presented to trade specialists from twelve countries. For this, Saint Elmo’s Experiential build a branded virtual location with minimalist architecture in the violet brand colour of GE Healthcare and core brand messages positioned on selected virtual walls. Special lighting effects and sound effects typical of a large gathering ensured an authentic event ambience.
To ensure that the visitors were not left to navigate three-dimensional rooms on their own, but rather got guided quickly and easily to information and the product itself, they have been welcomed in an auditorium before the start of the actual product presentation on stage. In order to give the product launch the character of an event with a storyline and dramaturgy, the rendered 3D sequences of the virtual event location were mixed with pre-recorded presentations by GE Healthcare specialists.
Parallel to the ongoing event, visitors also had the opportunity to discover the ultrasound scanner in a personal holographic experience. All they had to do was open a link on their smartphone. The GE Healthcare product developer then appeared on the display as a hologram to explain the features of the medical device. To achieve this, we captured the specialist in 3D and converted the recordings to augmented reality. – Additionally, users could try the complex product features by their own using a demo tour with sequences for touchscreen devices.
