The highball is one of Japan's most popular alcoholic drinks and Dewar’s Blended Scotch Whisky is on the path to being the most popular choice of Whisky to make it with.
As part of the ‘Stay Curious’ Campaign and to help recruit new drinkers, an immersive mini-game was produced that both educated users on the Dewar’s range and elevated the brand through engagement.
An integrated QR was developed and printed on limited edition highball glassware and menus that were distributed to many major Izakayas and cocktail bars across Japan (Izakaya definition on screen here).
Once scanned shoppers could place an augmented really distilling game where the user must tap to keep the pressure in the target zone across the three stills.
With over 1 minute of average dwell time, this partnership created important time for the users to feel connected with the Dewar’s brand, it was also re-purposed for delivery through the Dewars Japan social channels where it also saw great success in usage, sharing and engagement.
