Today, we’re excited to announce something many in the community have been asking for: the 8th Wall Desktop App, now available in Public Beta for MacOS and coming soon for Microsoft.

The Desktop App brings 8th Wall beyond the browser and into your local workflow. For the first time, you can build projects right from your own machine while still staying connected to everything you already know in 8th Wall. This means you can move faster in your own code editor, save changes and see results right away, and stay in the flow while you experiment and iterate. 

Work your way without compromise
With 8th Wall on the desktop, you now have the freedom to work with the tools that work best for you. You can open up VS Code or another code editor you prefer, pair it with an AI coding assistant, and write the way you want. The Desktop App allows 8th Wall to adapt to your setup, instead of asking you to adjust to ours. 

What’s more, it’s now easier for your projects to connect directly to your local files. If you’re refining a model in Blender or adjusting UV’s in Maya, those assets stay linked without the extra step of uploading and downloading. Everything fits together in a single streamlined pipeline, so your workflow stays intact from start to finish. 

Stay connected and build together 
Building locally doesn’t mean working in isolation. The Desktop App allows you to easily sync your project changes to the cloud. That means you and your team can move effortlessly between desktop and web editing, and preview in either environment, while cloud syncing ensures everything stays in sync.
